Practice Experience & Background

Built on Real-World Practice Experience

For more than 15 years, we built and operated Regain Functional Medicine & Aesthetics — a successful cash-pay practice in Leawood, Kansas, offering functional medicine, hormone therapy, aesthetics, and wellness services.

Through that work, we developed the operational systems, workflows, and decision-making frameworks required to build and sustain an independent medical practice in a complex healthcare environment.

That experience forms the foundation of Fields Consulting Group.

Our understanding of staffing, patient flow, billing models, vendor management, technology selection, and day-to-day operations was not learned in theory — it was developed inside a working practice.

While our current consulting focus is centered on medical record consolidation through Med-Sync, this background informs how we evaluate healthcare operations and understand the realities practitioners face when building or expanding a practice.

We share this history to provide context — and to demonstrate the depth of experience that shapes our work today.

Operational & Business Infrastructure Experience

Our prior practice experience included the full design and management of the operational infrastructure required to sustain an independent medical practice.

This work spanned financial management, staffing systems, legal structuring, and regulatory compliance — areas that require precision, coordination, and long-term planning in healthcare environments.

Our experience included:

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT & PRACICE ECONOMICS

  • Development of medical practice chart-of-accounts structures

  • Implementation of financial tracking and reporting systems

  • Cash-flow management and service-line profitability analysis

  • Evaluation of bookkeeping and accounting platforms

  • Coordination with CPAs and tax professionals

  • Design of pricing models across cash-pay and hybrid revenue structures

HUMAN RESOURCES & STAFFING

  • Creation of hiring frameworks and role definitions

  • Oversight of recruitment, onboarding, and staff training programs

  • Development of employee handbooks, policies, and performance systems

  • Compensation modeling and incentive structure design

  • Payroll system implementation and HR compliance oversight

LEGAL STRUCTURE & FRAMEWORK

  • Evaluation and implementation of MSO and PSO operating models

  • Coordination with healthcare legal counsel for entity structuring

  • Development of employment agreements and operational contracts

  • Implementation of HIPAA and corporate compliance programs

  • Navigation of state-specific regulatory considerations

This experience provides deep understanding of how operational decisions affect sustainability, compliance, and daily workflow inside medical practices.

EMR & Practice Management Systems

EVALUATION AND SELECTION OF EMR PLATFORMS

  • Custom workflow configuration and documentation template development

  • Patient portal implementation and communication setup

  • Reporting and analytics configuration to support operational visibility

  • Integration of scheduling, payment processing, and patient flow systems

VENDOR MANAGEMENT & SUPPLY CHAIN

  • Identification and evaluation of clinical, device, and supply vendors

  • Negotiation of vendor contracts, pricing structures, and payment terms

  • Coordination with compounding pharmacies and medical suppliers

  • Oversight of equipment sourcing and operational vendor relationships

INVENTORY MANAGMENT SYSTEMS

  • Implementation of inventory tracking and cost control processes

  • Expiration date monitoring and compliance procedures

  • Storage, handling, and utilization protocols to support patient safety and financial stewardship

This experience informs our understanding of how fragmented systems, disconnected vendors, and poorly aligned technology can create unnecessary operational strain within healthcare organizations.
